Transforming health in a political vacuum

24th November 2017

It's been more than a year since Professor Rafael Bengoa's report, Systems, Not Structures - Changing Health and Social Care, was published. And for most of that year we haven't had Ministers or an Executive at Stormont.

The pressures on the delivery of health and social care are growing, and the need for action becomes more and more urgent.

Can transformation of our health and social care system be delivered in a political vacuum? This panel event will explore the current state of the health and social care system, and what needs to be done to transform it.

This event is free to attend, but booking is required. Lightrefreshments will be provided.

The panel will be:

  • Professor Deirdre Heenan, Director, Health & Wellbeing Research Centre, Ulster University
  • Duane Farrell, Charity Director Age NI
  • Dr Sean McGovern, Vice President Royal College of Emergency Medicine
  • Dr Siobhan McEntee, GP
  • DavidGordon, Director of Communications, Department of Health
  • Marie-LouiseConnolly, BBC NI Health Correspondent (Chair)
